Encouraging a closer relationship to God, author Ronda Little Martin’s new book “God’s Word to a Widow’s Heart: Daily Hope to Overcome Personal Loss” is a devotional for widows seeking to improve their faith after suffering a loss.

“If you’ve encountered a tragedy or loss, you lose more than just a person in your life; you lose identity and often purpose,” Martin said. “By looking up and turning to God daily, one finds meaning in life and the hope to live again. These devotions are designed to draw you into a closer walk with God, where you will find answers you need and encouragement for the new journey you face.”

Martin said her book takes a personal approach at healing, since the writings were inspired by the loss of her own husband.

“[The book] addresses a real need to which many in the church do not know how to minister,” Martin says. “Unless you have overcome personal loss, you really can’t identify with the needs [of those that have].”

“God’s Word to a Widow’s Heart” is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Martin is a widow and cofounder of PHOEBE Ministries, which connects widows with each other for fellowship and service in their local church and community. She and her teenage son live in Lebanon, where she works as an educational assistant and a freelance Christian writer.
