Upcoming events to honor bishop

Friends and supporters of Bishop Belita McMurry-Fite are invited to attend two events honoring her 20 years of service. 

The black tie evening event will honor McMurry-Fite and leading gentleman Edward Fite. Bishop McMurry-Fite is the senior pastor and founder of Heaven’s View Baptist Church in Lebanon. She has served as a steering committee member for the Revitalization Task Force Committee and serves on the church relations committee for Habitat for Humanity.

The event will take place Saturday at 6 p.m. at Baird Chapel on the Cumberland University campus. Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for children. 

Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton will be the keynote speaker. 

Heaven’s View Baptist Church will hold its 20th anniversary service for Bishop McMurry-Fite on Aug. 3. Archbishop Ruth W. Smith Holmes with Light of the World Christian Tabernacle International is the 11 a.m. guest. Elder Jimmy L. Tyson with Rockvale Independent Original Church of God is the 3 p.m. guest.

Ads are for sale in the 20th anniversary program. Full-page ads are $100, ½-page ads are $50, ¼-page ads are $25 and 1/8-page ads are $20.
