Aug. 1

Gospel meeting

A three-day gospel meeting will be held at New Christian Life Church Aug. 1-3. Services will be 7:15 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Guest ministers will be Eld. David Morris and Pastor Mark Capers.

Aug. 2

Generation Changers Church

A “We Love Lebanon Back-to-School day” will be held Aug. 2 from 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the lawn at Wilson Bank & Trust located at 1130 N. Castle Heights Ave. in Lebanon. The event will offer free backpack and school supply giveaways, as well as haircuts, dental screenings, face painting, inflatables and more. Free food will be provided with registration.

Love’s Way Community Church

The Rev. Parker will conduct a series of “Spiritual Emphasis Services” on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Love’s Way Community Church. Everyone is invited. Parker and his wife Sharon trained at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. Parker is an ordained minister who has been in full time ministry for 37 years. Unity Church will have a singing August 2 at 7 p.m. with The “Proclaimers.” 

Aug. 3

Immanuel Baptist Church

Immanuel Baptist Church will have its annual church picnic with music, food, fun and fellowship Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jimmy Floyd Center. A barbeque supper will be provided and the cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Every family may bring a dessert.

Laguardo Missionary Baptist Church

Laguardo Missionary Baptist Church will have a musician appreciation service at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Cedric Pollenitz and Zion Faith Baptist Church from Gallatin will be the guests.

West Haven Baptist Church

West Haven Baptist Church has Sunday services that begin with Sunday Schools at 8:45 a.m. and worship following at 10 a.m. for music and children’s worship. Wednesday Summer schedule continues this week for adults and children. Upcoming future events include a Honduras mission trip and a church wide movie night. First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet

The community is invited to join First Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet August 3 as Pastor Andy Hale continues the sermon series in 1 Corinthians. This week’s sermon is “Gender Differences, Worship, and the Glory of God” from 1 Corinthians 11:2-16. Watertown First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church of Lebanon will resume its two service schedule Sunday with a contemporary service in the chapel 8:45 a.m. and a traditional service at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Sunday School for all ages will meet at 9:45 a.m. Communion is celebrated during both services the first Sunday of each month. Pastor Sherard Edington will be continuing his study of Galatians throughout August. The church is offering a Disciple I Class, an intense study of the Bible. This 34-week, video based Bible study course will meet each Monday night at 6 p.m. Disciple I is the prerequisite for all other Disciple-based Bible studies and covers the entire Biblical story from Genesis through Revelation. College Hills Church of Christ

The community is invited to join College Hills Church of Christ this week as it continues its message series “Mission Possible.” Sunday’s sermon is titled “Spirit-Driven Mission.” The first worship service begins at 8:45 a.m. followed by classes for all ages. The second assembly begins at 11:15 a.m. in the Witt Family Life Center.

Westland United Methodist Church

Westland United Methodist Church will have a “Blessing of the Backpacks” Sunday at both services to bless all students, ages preschool through college, teachers, home school teachers and administration. Bring your backpack or bag and the church will pray for you and the school year.

Episcopal Church of the Epiphany

The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany will celebrate the eighth Sunday after Pentecost August 3. The community is invited to Christian education at 9:15 a.m. and the 10:30 a.m. service. The Rev. Maple Hill Church of Christ

Preaching minister Tim Parish will be speaking on the subject of “Make Me A Servant” from Matthew 20:25-28 this Sunday, August 3 at Maple Hill Church of Christ. Heaven’s View Baptist Church will celebrate Bishop Belita McMurry-Fite’s, 20th Pastoral Anniversary this Sunday, August 3. First United Methodist Church

Free back to school haircuts

In an effort to give back to the community, Asante Salon, Crossroads Church and The Mill at Lebanon have partnered with Tangles, Aqua Bella, Lookers and Style Masters Salons to provide free “back to school” haircuts.  The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 2-5 p.m. in Edgerton Hall at The Mill.  The Mill at Lebanon is located at 300 N.
