PHOEBE Ministries

Dowell Chapel United Methodist Church

Dowell Chapel United Methodist Church will celebrate their Youth Day at 11 a.m. Brother Richie Williams will be the guest speaker at 2 p.m. O’Keefe Hassell will bring the message and the Alameda Church youth from Nashville will be singing.

College Hills Church of Christ

The community is invited to join College Hills Church of Christ this week as it continues its message series “Mission Possible.” Sunday’s sermon will look at the idea that homes may be the most important  mission points in the world. The first worship service begins at 8:45 a.m. followed by classes for all ages at 10:15. The second assembly begins at 11:15 a.m. in the Witt Family Life Center.

First United Methodist Church

West Hills Baptist Church

The community is invited to West Hills Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Sunday mornings. Rev. Ross Locke will lead in worship this week while pastor is on vacation. Evening service will be lead by Rev. Stan Blades at 6 p.m. Children K-6 have their own worship time with Worship KidStyle in the chapel. During the morning worship time the church also provides an opportunity for preschool age children to experience a time of activity and Bible story each week. Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m. for all ages. Discipleship classes are also offered Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. for all ages from preschool to adults with childcare provided. The youth meet at 5 p.m. for Bible study, fellowship, activity and missions. The Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m.

Cross Road Church

Pickett Rucker United Methodist Church

Pickett Rucker United Methodist Church will be the location for the Wilson County High School Class of 1964 worship at 10 a.m. Sermon will be delivered by classmate, Milas Officer, Pastor of Asbury Memorial Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church of Lebanon will resume its two-service schedule Sunday with a contemporary service in the chapel 8:45 a.m. and a traditional service at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Sunday School for all ages will meet at 9:45 a.m. Pastor Sherard Edington will be continuing his study of Galatians throughout Aug.. The church is offering a Disciple I Class, an intense study of the Bible. This 34-week, video based Bible study course will meet each Monday night at 6 p.m. Disciple I is the prerequisite for all other Disciple-based Bible studies and covers the entire Biblical story from Genesis through Revelation. Aug. 28

Joseph’s Storehouse Food Ministry 

The monthly food distribution will take place on Aug. 28 for the disabled and Aug. 30 for all others. The hours are 8 a.m. until noon. Those going for the first time are requested to bring proof of total household income, a photo ID and one other form of identification. The disabled who come on Thursday will also need a letter from their doctor. USDA guidelines are followed to qualify applicants.

LaGuardo Missionary Baptist Church

LaGuardo Missionary Baptist Church will host a fellowship breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by worship service at 9:30 a.m. 

Sept. 5

Rest Stop Ministries 

Rest Stop Ministries will have its second annual fundraising dinner in the Shankle Center at Hermitage Church of the Nazarene. Doors open at 6 p.m. and event starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and funds raised at this event will be used to purchase a home in Lebanon for victims of sex trafficking to restore them to wholeness. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the website, reststopministries.org.

Sept. 6

West Hills Baptist Church

West Hills Baptist Church will be the location for an hour-long informative session, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., about the Amendment 1 vote on September 6. The one hour session will give you guidelines on how to tell others, one on one, about Amendment 1 and all the benefits women and unborn babies will receive if it is passed. 

Sept. 9

First Presbyterian Church

The Open Circle is hosting two Empty Bowls workshops from 6-8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. On Sept. 9, you can make bowls and on Sept. 23, you can paint bowls. The Open Bowls project benefits the Wilson County Community Help Center. Call the church office to register.

Williamson Chapel CME Church

Grace UMC will be the host of local artisans and crafters as they offer personal and gift items to benefit Wilson County charities. The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Oct. 5

First United Methodist Church

United Methodist Men sponsored 2nd Annual Holy Rollers Car Show. The event will be on the church grounds. Registration is from 1-3 p.m. and the show is from 1-5 p.m. Awards will be given at 4 p.m. for best of the show and people’s choice. Concessions available.
