HARTSVILLE – Dying only hours before his 44th birthday, the youngest child of the Johnson family was laid to rest Wednesday at Anthony Funeral Home in Hartsville.

The chapel was full of family and friends who gathered to remember Ronald Lyn Johnson Sr. as his father, Trousdale County Commissioner Richard Johnson, began to speak about how everyone involved was somebody's son and not to forget that.

Johnson was fatally shot just before 2:30 a.m. at 15 Joseph Street in Lebanon.

Bowen said officers responded to a shots fired call and arrived to find Johnson’s body lying in the street. He said investigators believe Johnson went to the area to buy narcotics. He said a large crowd was gathered at the time of the shooting

“The investigation is continuing,” said Lebanon police Chief Scott Bowen. “There is a group of people who knows what happened. They just have to come forward and tell us what happened.”

Bowen said Wednesday no other information was available as officers continue to investigate. Anyone with any information is asked to call Lebanon police at 615-444-2323.
