Metro Nashville police found a runaway Lebanon girl reported missing since Aug. 30 at a popular Nashville nightclub early Sunday morning and returned her to her mother.

Lebanon police Chief Scott Bowen said authorities found Deshon L. Crawford, 16, at Club Miami at 295 E. Thompson Lane in Nashville. Crawford was charged with curfew violation and taken to a juvenile detention center in Nashville.

Crawford’s mother, Melissa Crawford Holdeman, reportedly picked her up and is back in her custody. Bowen said Metro Nashville police removed Crawford from the National Crime Information Center database as missing.

“She’s home safe; [I] just got back with her,” said Melissa Crawford Holdeman on Sunday at about 7 a.m. in a Facebook post. “Remember, if you have faith of a mustard seed that, and tell that mountain to move, it will move. Thank you all for everything. I can never repay you all for the time and prayers you have spent helping to find her. God has blessed us with you kind-hearted people.”

On Tuesday, Bowen said had heard from a friend of Crawford’s who said she saw her a week prior.

“She told her friend she was fine and ‘good luck finding me,’” Bowen said.

Holdeman, told police her daughter climbed out of a bathroom window sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 28 and 1 a.m. Aug. 29, and she had not seen or heard from her since.

Bowen said at the time police could not issue an Amber alert for Crawford because she apparently ran away, but police were doing “absolutely everything they could to find her.

“It appears she ran away, and we’re obviously still working on this case, but there’s a big difference between being missing and being a runaway,” Bowen said at the time.

Bowen said all the information police gathered at the time pointed to Crawford not wanting to be found. He said police didn’t believe Crawford was in any danger.
