With Halloween quickly approaching, it’s time to start making fun and safe plans for families and people of all ages.

On Oct. 31 the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, along with the city of Lebanon, the Lebanon Downtown Merchants and First Baptist Church will sponsor the annual “Trick or Treat Party” on the Lebanon square from 5-8 p.m.

Activities for the evening will include 35 candy stations so trick or treaters can fill up on loot.

Additionally, the event will feature a balloon man, face painting, games, inflatables, free hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and more.

Another annual event taking place at Halloween on the Square is the fourth annual Neddy Jacobs Coffin Race, which will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Coffins are set to line up on East Main Street and race down the hill to the square. Competitors make their own coffins and are pushed and pulled by teammates around the square.

Businesses, organizations, friends and families can apply for the race, with applications for a starting spot available at the chamber office.

First Baptist Church will once again be offering free hayrides from the church to the square during the event.

The square will be blocked off during the event for safety.
