How many times can you sample food from dozens of local restaurants in one place?
In Wilson County, there are a few.
The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce is inviting everyone to visit its annual open house March 17, where everyone can wear their green and sample a variety of foods.
Chamber President Sue Vanatta said this year's event features the most restaurants the open house has had. She said the event averages about 25 local eateries.
"We have 30 caterers that will be bringing in food throughout the day," Vanatta said.
She added that number was up from last year, which included 27 vendors.
"We are hoping for good weather so we can set up tables outside," Vanatta said.
This year's event will also include participants from outside of Lebanon.
"We have several restaurants from Mt. Juliet and Watertown, and we are thrilled that they are coming," said Vanatta.
There will be restaurants and food styles to satisfy any taste, from barbecue to pizza and even cabbage.
"You name it, we're going to have it," said Vanatta.
Along with the food, Vanatta said WANT will be doing a live broadcast and a special treat is in store this year courtesy of Claiborne's Bakery.
Vanatta said the bakery will provide a cake to celebrate the Chamber's 90th birthday.
"We had about 400 people last year," Vanatta said. "We hope to have even more this year."
The open house will run from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Chamber office, located at 149 Public Square in Lebanon.
