Lean in Lebanon will kick off its second season of helping community members lose weight.

The community-wide event will begin with weigh-ins Saturday and conclude with the Go Johnny Go 5K/10K.

“Besides working with a trainer in small groups and having full access during the month to Sports Village Fitness, the best part is that is affordable to everyone at only $49,” said Peggy Keel owner of Sports Village. “The sponsors even give back half of the costs if participants complete the program concluding with the Go Johnny Go Walk/Run on May 17.”

Keel said the program, started last year, helped 181 people lose more than 1,000 pounds in one month.

Don’t miss out on this grand opportunity to jump start your way into a healthier and happier life,” Keel said. “This is a one-month fitness program designed to help you to lose weight and not only shape up for this summer, but also to learn how to keep off the weight for the rest of your life. Besides learning how to stay active, they learned that little things in your diet can add up to a lot of weight lost over the years.”

The program is open for both adults and children in first through sixth grades, along with corporate team awards. The Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event.

“I have spent most of my adult life trying to figure out how to motivate others to be active and live a healthier lifestyle,” Keel said. “As you know, this can be a challenging endeavor. I feel that the Lean in Lebanon program begins to address this in a healthy, educational and fun way. It’s a way that is not intimidating for those who wish to lose weight.”
