Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corp. workers determined equipment failure was the cause of a power outage that left more than 6,200 Wilson County residents without power for nearly an hour early Monday morning.

The outage happened just before 1:30 a.m. and affected about 6,213 customers from Lebanon north to the Trousdale County and Sumner County lines.

According to MTEMC spokesperson Josh Clendenen, workers found the equipment failure at a Lebanon substation and restored power at 2:19 a.m.

Residents in Lebanon and north Wilson County along Hartsville Pike, Highway 70 and Hunters Point Pike were among those affected.
