United Way of Wilson County recently awarded the Tim Denny Memorial Volunteer Award to Colette Stoffel for her far-reaching work as communications chair for the organization.
“The award is a special one to us,” said UWWC President John McMIllin. “The award recognizes outstanding achievement in a volunteer effort for work which helps United Way serve the community or for work directly serving Wilson County.”
The recognition is not given every year, but rather only when someone’s overall achievements are deemed to be far beyond the normal level of volunteer effort. Named after local accountant and UWWC volunteer Tim Denny, who was known for his cheerful and patient work with UWWC, this award marks the third time it has been awarded to a volunteer.
Stoffel produced UWWC’s newest giving site, givetouwwc.org, along with numerous other marketing tools during her tenure as UWWC’s communications chair. The site is hoped to enhance giving and make giving easier and more productive. Stoffel and her husband own and operate Visionary Design Group in Watertown and have been long-term supporters of UWWC.
