U.S. Sen. Bob Corker will be in Middle Tennessee this week to meet with constituents in Wilson and several other counties.
Corker will meet with business and community leaders at a number of events held by local civic organizations to discuss his work.
In Wilson County, Corker will be at the Community Bankers Meeting in Lebanon on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be at the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.
In meetings with realtors, home builders and community bankers, Corker said he plans to discuss his legislation to strengthen America’s housing finance system by replacing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with a privately capitalized system that preserves the availability of desirable mortgage products to creditworthy borrowers and fully protects taxpayers from future economic downturns.
Corker also plans to make stops in Murfreesboro, Columbia, Brentwood, Springfield, Hendersonville, Nashville and Franklin through Thursday.
Corker is ranking member of the foreign relations committee and an active member of the banking committee.
