The Lebanon Housing Authority board will soon have to choose a new attorney.
In a letter dated Monday, longtime Lebanon Housing Authority attorney Bob Rochelle submitted his resignation to exiting Executive Director Henry Harding.
Harding recently stepped down as executive director.
“Over the last several years, I have told you that I would stay on as the Authority's lawyer until you leave,” said Rochelle in his resignation letter. “With the selection of a great new Executive Director, I think it is time that I implement my commitment.”
Rochelle praised Harding and board members and suggested this serves as an opportunity for the incoming executive director, Patrick Johnson, preacher at Peyton Road Church of Christ.
“My retirement as the lawyer for the Authority will give Mr. Johnson and the board an opportunity to build a new team,” said Rochelle.
Rochelle, a prominent local attorney and former state senator, served as county attorney for Wilson County from 1974 through 1987.
Rochelle’s resignation will become effective at close of business Oct. 31.
