Researchers will unveil the results of a feasibility study for a possible Expo Center at the Ward Ag Center Wednesday.
According to County Mayor Randall Hutto, representatives from Middle Tennessee State University will be present the results of a feasibility study on the idea to commissioners Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the County Commission room of the county courthouse.
Commissioner Jeff Joines said in earlier reports on the subject that the center would be located on the fairgrounds and is proposed to be a climate-controlled space approximately 80,000 square feet.
“It’s an all-purpose center,” Hutto said. “They’ll be able to have sporting events, seating arrangements for concerts and banquet dinners, graduations and proms. Also expo exhibits such as food shows and trade shows.
“Quite a few people call throughout the year for covered space,” he said. “And right now the largest space we have is the East-West Building.”
Commissioners will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the results of the study following the presentation.
Hutto said there could be time for questions from the public, and the public is invited to attend the presentation.
