Wilson County schools officials will begin soon a series of public forums called “2020s.”
According to Director of Schools Tim Setterlund, the forums are an effort to engage the community in education and share information about current topics affecting schools.
The forums are a “focus on the future of education in Wilson County,” Setterlund said.
The first 2020 will be Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the theatre at Mt. Juliet High School at 1875 Golden Bear Gateway.
Setterlund said Lauren Breeze is expected to introduce the district’s new engagement committee, and he plans to address recent district changes, a shift from kindergarten through eighth-grade schools to a middle school model and Wilson County schools’ five-year strategic plan.
He said comment cards will be distributed to attendees at the door, and comments and concerns can be shared in writing, or there will be time to share concerns in person at the forum.
