The Wilson County Board of Education will discuss more details about the search for the next director of schools at its March meeting.
Board Chair Don Weathers said since the board voted at its last meeting “to keep the search internal,” they have taken time to “collect their thoughts.”
“At the March meeting we’ll probably put our game plan together and decide exactly how we want to proceed,” said Weathers.
At the moment, Weathers said the board is taking the time to formulate a time frame for the submission of resumes from interested parties. He said the board’s hope is to have a good number of resumes submitted for consideration so that they do not have to go through a selection firm.
“We’re asking for people who may be interested to submit a resume. At our next meeting we’ll decide how long we want to give everyone to submit resumes.
“I’d surely like to have the new director in place by the June 23 cutoff, and I don’t see a reason why we can’t do that,” said Weathers.
The board will have its monthly meeting March 7 at 3 p.m. at the Central Office.
