Students suspended for food fight

Eight students at Wilson Central High School involved in a food fight on Friday were additionally suspended from school after they were criminally charged following the incident.

Eight students at Wilson Central High School involved in a food fight on Friday were additionally suspended from school after they were criminally charged following the incident.

Principal Pat Suddarth said Tuesday administrators are “still in the process of making some decisions if there will be additional punishment and what that might be.”

Four adult and four juvenile students were involved in the incident that resulted in misdemeanor citations for disorderly conduct and vandalism.

Sheriff Robert Bryan said the school’s two school resource officers received information something was going to happen Friday in the lunchroom. He said within a few minutes, the SROs were able to gain control of the situation but not before quite a bit of food was thrown. 

Bryan said officers also found eggs and other food brought into the lunchroom from outside the school.
