COOKEVILLE — Lebanon's 13-year-old all-stars run-ruled Giles County 14-3 Friday as the Babe Ruth League state tournament resumed after a four-day rain delay.

But the Lions, following a 45-minute break, had it handed right back to them by host Cookeville 10-0 to be eliminated from the tournament.

Lebanon jumped to Giles County 10-0 in the first inning and pitcher Trevor Eidson took it from there in the five-inning victory.

Cookeville drew a bye as Franklin, it's scheduled opponent, withdrew due to travel ball conflicts, and followed with a five-inning victory over the Lions, who they beat twice during the district tournament.

The loss ended all-star tournament play for the summer for Lebanon-based teams.
