If next week's season openers are called Week 0, this week's jamborees must be Week minus-one.

In any event, four Wilson County high school teams will get in a dress rehearsal with the public getting its first paid look of the season.

Two-time state champion Friendship Christian will hold a jamboree for the first time in memory as the Commanders welcome Westmoreland to Pirtle Field.

The middle schools will play at 7 p.m., followed by the junior-varsity at around 7:30 and the varsity at 8.

Three other teams will play Saturday night.

At Watertown, the Purple Tigers will tune up for their final season at Robinson Stadium by welcoming DeKalb County to town.

Watertown's elementary team will take on Carroll-Oakland at 6 p.m., followed by the Purple Tigers against DeKalb in junior-varsity action at 7 and varsity play at 8.

At Trousdale County, the 25th annual Tobacco Bowl Jamboree will feature Wilson County rivals Wilson Central and Mt. Juliet.

The Golden Bears' junior-varsity will take on Greenwood, from Bowling Green, Ky., at 6 p.m., followed by the varsities at 6:30.

Wilson Central's JV will follow against Beech at 7:30 before the Wildcat varsity takes on Macon County at 8.

Each game will be two quarters.
