Lebanon volleyballers sweep Trousdale, MJCA Central sweeps Station Camp in 9-AAA opener

HENDERSONVILLE — Lebanon opened District 9-AAA volleyball play Tuesday with a 25-12, 25-10, 25-11 hammering of Hendersonville.

Nicole Painter produced nine kills, two digs and two blocks for Lebanon while Alex Britt supplied six digs, four kills and three aces; Veronica White five aces, four kills and four digs; Tatum Thompson 25 assists and an ace, Bri Clemmons six kills and three digs and Megan Brown f14 digs.

Lebanon also won the junior-varsity match 25-19, 25-13.

Taylor Black led Lebanon with 10 assists, two kills and two aces while Erin Arnold added eight kills and seven digs, Caroline Osier three kills and three aces and Whitney Hight four kills.

Lebanon will travel to two-time Class A champion Friendship Christian today for a 5:30 p.m. varsity-only match at the Charlie Bay Family Sportsplex. The Lady Devils will return home to play host to Wilson Central on Thursday with freshmen, JV and varsity matches starting at 4 p.m.


Lebanon volleyballers sweep Trousdale, MJCA


HARTSVILLE — Lebanon swept host Trousdale County and Mt. Juliet Christian in a volleyball tri-match Monday.

The Lady Devils defeated Trousdale 25-12, 25-27, 25-12 before sweeping Mt. Juliet Christian 25-12, 25-10. Also, the host Lady Jackets topped the Lady Saints 25-9, 25-18.

Against the Lady Jackets, Alex Britt led Lebanon with 13 digs, eight kills, two aces and a block while Bri Clemmons added 11 kills, seven digs, an ace and a block; Tatum Thompson 34 assists and nine digs and Kelsey Yarbrough 13 kills.

Against the Lady Saints, Clemmons notched nine kills and three aces, Thompson 15 assists, Megan Brown seven digs and Nicole Painter five kills.

Lauren Wankel supplied six digs and three kills for Mt. Juliet Christian while Meredith Orr set up six assists and April Bennett an ace.

"Lebanon is a very talented team," Mt. Juliet Christian coach Bridget Bass said. "I think it is good for our team to play bigger schools. It can only make us better."

Against Trousdale, Orr set up 10 assists, Wankel supplied seven digs, Caroline Scott spiked six kills and Peyton Raymer served up an ace.

Mt. Juliet Christian will next take on St. Andrew's-Sewanee at Friendship Christian's Bay Family Sportsplex.


Central sweeps Station Camp in 9-AAA opener


GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central opened District 9-AAA play Tuesday with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-13 triumph over visiting Station Camp.

Brittany Wiseman led the Lady Wildcats with 17 digs, four aces, two kills and two assists while Cassie Bryant totaled 10 digs, four kills, an ace and a block; Jordan Fitzgerald 10 assists, three kills, a dig and a block; Averi Usher 10 kills, a dig and a block; Delaney McCorkle nine kills, six digs and two blocks; Macy Wright four kills, two digs and an ace; Amy Trice 22 assists and two digs and Kristen Guethlein a kill as Central moved to 5-3 for the season.

Central also swept the junior-varsity match 25-21, 25-15.

The Lady Wildcats will travel to Lebanon on Thursday. The freshmen will serve off at 4 p.m., the junior varsity at 5 and the varsity at 6.
