After a split of the first two gams, two-time state champion Friendship Christian seized control of a 25-20, 16-25, 25-18, 25-22 triumph over visiting Lebanon on Wednesday at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

Alex Sealy notched 21 kills and 10 digs for Friendship while junior Autumn Josey, a transfer from Florida, added 17 digs and 12 kills as the Lady Commanders climbed to 14-1. Freshman Libby Nave notched 12 digs, veteran Sam Finley 10 digs and Savannah Robinson six aces.

Tatum Thompson totaled 31 assists, 11 digs, two kills and a block for Lebanon while Nicole Painter picked up 10 kills, five digs, two aces and a block; Alex Britt nine kills, seven digs, two aces and a block; Kelsey Yarbrough nine kills and a block and Megan Brown 13 digs.

Friendship will travel to Nashville Christian today.


Watertown splits 8-A tri-match


WATERTOWN — Watertown swept Merrol Hyde 25-12, 25-11 Tuesday while losing to Gordonsville 25-15, 25-17 in a District 8-A tri-match.

Against Merrol Hyde, Emily Gleason supplied seven aces and two kills while Mary Holden had three kills and three digs, Virginia Lea four digs and a kill, Katie Dalton two kills and two digs, Bailey Griffin two aces and a kill, Allison Bouton seven digs, Brandie Hill five kills, Emily Woodson four digs and Hannah Zachary a kill.
