Hendersonville hammered Mt. Juliet 8-1 in District 9-AAA soccer Tuesday night.

The Lady Commandos led 4-0 at halftime before Savanah Collins averted a shutout on a penalty kick in the 26th minute of the second half.

Riley Wendling posted 18 saves for the Lady Bears, who dropped to 1-2 for the season in the district.

"We were not ready to play tonight and is showed," Mt. Juliet coach Ryan Hill said. "Hendersonville took advantage of our mistakes."

Mt. Juliet will play host to Macon County at 6 p.m. Thursday in a non-district match.


Merrol Hyde rolls past MJCA


HENDERSONVILLE — Mt. Juliet Christian lost at Merrol Hyde 8-1 Tuesday.

The Lady Hawks soared to a 4-1 halftime lead as Marcella Gallione's goal off an Amanda Wall assist was all that kept the Lady Saints from a shutout.

Addison Oaks scored three goals and Raven Bentley and Emily McAndrew two each for Merrol Hyde.

Olivia Gonzales notched nine saves for the Lady Saints, who slipped to 2-1.

Mt. Juliet Christian will play host to East-Middle District rival Knoxville Webb at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 7.
