HARTSVILLE -- Kenyan Harper helped keep the beat rolling for Trousdale County on Friday night.

Harper ran for 124 yards and four touchdowns, adding a fifth on a scoring reception as the Yellow Jackets cruised to a 53-14 win over visiting Watertown in District 8-A play,

Trousdale County (3-0, 1-0) had 27 points in the first quarter and 46 in the first half as it beat Watertown for the seventh straight time.

Watertown (0-3, 0-1) put up a fight early. After Harper scored on a 56-yard run to open the scoring, the Purple Tigers rallied back moments later with a 67-yard touchdown pass from Ty Jobe to Brandon George, tying the game at 7.

But just when it looked like the game might turn into a shootout, the Yellow Jackets proved to have much more ammunition.

Harper caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Marquel Claiborne to give Trousdale the lead, and Zach Blackwell added a 13-yard scoring run. By the time the hosts scored again on Josh Jackson's 69-yard touchdown pass from Claiborne, it was 27-7.

Claiborne wasn't through. He added his third touchdown pass on a 39-yard score to Seth Holder, and Harper added scoring runs of 1 and 33 yards.

Watertown's Jobe and George combined to give the Purple Tigers a score right before the end of the half. They connected on a 2-yard scoring pass with 11 seconds left, cutting the margin to 46-14 at halftime.

Harper added a 5-yard touchdown run late in the half to end the scoring.

Trousdale County was led defensively by Chase Dallas, who had six tackles, including one for loss.

Trousdale County, which beat Macon County and Sycamore on the road to begin the year, hosts Friendship Christian next week. Watertown will return home to play Oneida.
