Lebanon bounced back from a fourth-game stumble to finish off visiting Beech 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22 in District 9-AAA volleyball Tuesday.

Tatum Thompson totaled 34 assists, three digs, two kills and an ace for the Lady Devils while Alex Britt added 21 digs, 10 kills, two assists and an ace; Bri Clemmons 14 kills and a block, Kelsey Yarbrough six kills and six digs and Megan Brown 17 digs.

Lebanon also won the junior-varsity match 25-19, 25-19.

Taylor Black supplied seven assists, four digs, two aces and a kill for Lebanon while Erin Arnold finished with five digs, four kills and an ace; Alyssa Hughes six digs and Haylee Wilson four kills.

Lebanon will remain at home to await a Thursday visit from Gallatin. The JV will serve off at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6.


Lady Wildcats upend defending champs in 5


PORTLAND — Wilson Central emerged from a five-game set with defending District 9-AAA Portland with an 11-25, 25-23, 21-25, 32-29, 15-11 triumph on Tuesday.

Jordan Fitzgerald finished with 13 assist, six digs and two aces for Central while Libby Trowbridge totaled 10 kills, four blocks and two digs; Brittany Wiseman 32 digs, three aces and a kill; Delaney McCorkle nine digs, seven kills and three blocks; Cassie Bryant nine digs, two kills and an ace; Macy Wright four digs, two kills and an ace; Amy Trice 15 assists and five digs, Averi Usher seven digs and six kills, Kristen Guethlein three digs and two kills and Leslie Corn six digs as the Lady Wildcats climbed to 8-5 for the season and 4-2 in the district.

Central lost the junior-varsity match 25-19, 25-21 and the Lady Wildcat freshmen fell 25-16, 25-22.

The Lady Wildcats will return home to take on Beech on Thursday before playing host to their annual 16-team Fall Fling on Friday and Saturday.


Lady Commanders bounce back to beat Ezell-Harding


Friendship Christian bounced back from a lost weekend in Knoxville by sweeping visiting Ezell-Harding 25-23, 25-13, 25-19 Tuesday in an East-Middle District match at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

The two-time state champion Lady Commanders lost a district match at Knoxville Webb last Thursday before dropping all six matches in the Knoxville Catholic Tournament.

Alex Sealy led the Lad Commanders with 18 kills, three assists and two aces while Madison Bryant supplied 16 assists, five aces and four digs; Morgan Vallett six digs, three kills and two aces; Libby Nave seven digs and two aces, Savannah Robinson four digs and two kills, eighth-grader Kendall Tipton a kill and an ace and Sam Finley six kills.

Friendship will remain in district action Thursday when the Lady Commanders travel to St. Andrew's-Sewanee for a 5 p.m. match.


Sweep keeps Lady Bears in 9-AAA lead


MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet stayed in the District 9-AAA lead Tuesday with a 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 victory over Station Camp.

Shelby Woodard finished with four blocks and two aces for Mt. Juliet while Halle Raines racked up 31 assists, Allyson Huffman 13 kills and Morgan Phillips eight digs as the Lady Bears improved to 10-5 for the season and 6-0 in the district.

Mt. Juliet will remain at home for a visit from Hendersonville at 6 p.m. Thursday.


Lady Saints sweep McClain


Mt. Juliet Christian swept host McClain Christian 25-16, 25-10, 25-15 Monday.

Lauren Wankel led the lady Saints with 10 kills and a block while Meredith Orr set up 17 assists, Morgan Adcock served up six aces and Peyton Raymer and April Bennett each finished with four digs.

"We played very consistent tonight, which helped us win," Mt. Juliet Christian coach Bridget Bass said after her Lady Saints evened their record at 4-4 going into Tuesday's home match against Donelson Christian.


Tigerettes fall in four to Upperman


WATERTOWN — Visiting Upperman broke a 1-1 tie with two straight victories in a 25-13, 23-25, 25-16, 25-10 triumph over Watertown on Monday.

Paige Mock paced the Tigerettes with 19 digs, 12 kills and seven aces while Mary Holden had eight kills and six digs, Katie Dalton five kills and four digs, Emily Gleason five kills, an ace and a dig; Virginia Lea three kills and three digs, Allison Bouton 13 digs, Brandie Hill five kills, Victoria Foster four digs and Bailey Griffin a dig.
