Cumberland is ranked 20th in the first regular-season edition of the 2013 NAIA women’s soccer coaches’ top 25 poll, released by the national office Tuesday.

The Bulldogs dropped seven spots after a 5-3 loss to Savannah College of Art & Design last Friday, but the club rebounded with a 2-0 victory over Campbellsville on Tuesday to begin Mid-South Conference play.

Cumberland has defeated then 22nd-ranked Brenau (now No. 23) and Tennessee Wesleyan, which was receiving votes in the preseason coaches poll. Senior Rhianne Parsons and junior Shauna Gilpin lead the club with three goals each, while Parsons and sophomore Taylor Nay both have two assists.

CU will face Trinity International this Saturday at noon and Union University next Wednesday to end a five-match homestand.
