The Lebanon Blue Devils played hard Friday night but fell to Station Camp 28-22 at Clifton Tribble Field/ Danny Watkins Stadium.

"I am a whole lot more pleased we played hard football for

four quarters," Lebanon coach Sam Harp said after his Blue Devils dropped to 1-4 for the season and 0-3 in District 9-AAA.

Station Camp opened the scoring on a long pass play from Kyle Anderton to Josh Malone of 61 yards. Malone finished with five catches for 140 yards and two scores.

Station Camp's next score was set up by a bad punt by the Lebanon special teams of 2 yards that left the ball at the Blue Devil 21-yard line.

The Bison scored this time on a 16-yard pass from Anderton to

Malone to make the score 13-0.

Lebanon battled back by driving the ball down for a score on

a six-play, 65-yard drive capped by a pass from Christian Haffner to Julian Crutchfield of 7 yards.

With less than four minutes remaining in the first half, the Bison scored again, this time by ground on a 3-yard run by Tre Malone.

Lebanon, however, would not be denied, running nearly four minutes off of the clock on a 14-play, 68-yard scoring drive capped by a 1-yard plunge by Haffner to make the halftime score 20-14.

Each team scored in the second half 20 seconds apart.

The first came on a 1-yard dive by Anderton. The conversion was a pass from Anderton to Malone that was good.

Lebanon came right back on a razzle-dazzle play as receiver J’Quan Jackson got the ball and threw it downfield to Eddie McDaniels, who leaped over the defensive back for the ball and raced to the end zone. McDaniels ran the conversion and the score was 28-22.

Each team fumbled in the fourth quarter, but neither could take

advantage of the miscue.

Station Camp drove down the field before Anderton was sacked by the Lebanon defense, setting up a 4th down and 19. The Bison went for it and threw a corner route to Malone, but the pass was short and Lebanon got the ball back at the 5-yard line with 2:04 left.

Lebanon drove the ball near midfield but ran out of time as the clock hit zero, enabling Station Camp to escape with a 3-1 record, 2-1 in the district.

The Blue Devils will close out their home schedule next Friday when Cookeville comes to Tribble Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
