Two scores by Yarin Alexander and an extra point lifted the Wildcats past the Bandits 13-12 while Alante Coggins’ two-point kick was the difference for the Vols in their 8-6 win over the Bandits in Lebanon Junior-Senior Pro Football League action last Monday night at Walter J. Baird Middle School.
In the 8-9 junior-pro division, Alexander scored on an 80-yard pass from Kaden Seay in the first quarter and on a 6-yard run with 37 seconds left in the fourth quarter. His extra-point run in the final minute provided the winning tally.
John Tomlinson had just lifted the Bandits to a 12-6 lead on a 6-yard scoring run with 1:20 to play. Brett Bowman’s 6-yard score 20 seconds before halftime tied the score 6-6.
Christan Bardan recovered a fumble for the Wildcats while Tomlinson, Carson Reed and Mason Key each had a takeaway for the Bandits.
In the 10-11 senior division, Coggins’ kick came after Tyson Kelley’s 30-yard touchdown run with 4:30 left to play.
Mason Reed scored on a 16-yard run with 29 seconds left to bring the Bandits within two, but the kick failed.
Cade Carson recovered a fumble for the Vols while Jacob Franklin, Dalton Hudson, Preston Creswell and Laquentin Hearn did likewise for the Bandits.
