Blue Devil runners finish second at Sparta

Mark Britt led Lebanon with a second-place finish in 17:41.

SPARTA — Lebanon’s boys slipped and sloshed to a second-place finish under wet conditions in the Back Yard Invitational on Saturday.

The Blue Devils picked up 59 points, trailing only Cookeville’s 39. Station Camp was third with69.

Mark Britt led Lebanon with a second-place finish in 17:41.

Anthony Reeves was seventh in 18:42, Caleb Kawasaki 10th in 19:00, Austin Montgomery 18th in 19:37, Dieon Sullivan 22nd in 19:58, Jeorge Sanchez, 32nd in 20:37, Cole Langford 36th in 20:55, Ethan Carr 53rd in 22:36 and Michael West 83rd in 25:01.

Lebanon didn’t field a full girls’ team, but Caitlyn Strickland led the Lady Devils with a fourth-place finish in 22:44.

Heather Allmond was 22nd in 25:38, Maddie Martin 24th  in 25:49 and Pam Warden 29th in 26:40.

Lebanon will next run in the Sharp Springs Invitational in Smyrna on Saturday
