Lebanon advances to 9-AAA semifinals, Central ousted by Beech

PORTLAND — Lebanon moved into the District 9-AAA volleyball semifinals with a 26-24, 25-18, 25-17 victory over Station Camp on Monday.

The third-seeded Lady Devils will face No. 2/host Portland in tonight’s 6:30 p.m. semifinal with the winner punching a ticket to next week’s Region 5-AAA tournament.

Tatum Thompson totaled 26 assists, four digs, two kills, two aces and a block for Lebanon while Alex Britt banged out 12 digs, eight kills and three aces; Kelsey Yarbrough 10 kills and three blocks and Bri Clemmons nine kills and two blocks.

Later, Wilson Central lost to Beech 26-28, 32-30, 25-21, 25-20 in the final first-round match of the day.

Libby Trowbridge totaled 10 kills, four blocks, two aces and a dig for Central while Cassie Bryant banged out six kills, five digs, two blocks and an ace; Delaney McCorkle four kills, two aces, a block and an assist; Jordan Fitzgerald 26 assists, six digs and a kill; Kristen Guethlein seven kills, four digs and an ace; Amy Trice five assists and five digs, Macy Wright five kills and three digs, Claire Smith three digs and a kill, Natalie Walker an ace and a block, Brittany Wiseman 17 digs and Casey Hughes a dig as the Lady Wildcats’ season ended.
