OLD HICKORY — Cumberland’s Katie Legge, Kayla Smith and Lindsey Taylor are all within three shots of the leader and the Bulldogs stand in second place overall as a team after Monday’s first round of the Trevecca Nazarene Invitational at Old Hickory Country Club.

Legge, a junior from Portland, shot a seven-over par 79 and is one shot behind Trevecca Nazarene’s Mikayla Dodson for the overall lead. TNU’s Kaylon King is tied with Legge, while Smith, a senior from Greenbrier, and Taylor, a senior from Milan, along with Union University’s Rilee Taylor, are all three shots off the pace after carding rounds of 81.

Freshman Kaleigh Chitwood is 18th overall, posting an opening-round 90, and sophomore Quincy Hogan is tied for 25th after shooting a 96.

In the team standings, Trevecca Nazarene leads the Bulldogs by nine shots heading into Tuesday’s final round. Milligan College and Union University are separated by just one shot for third and fourth place, while Alderson Broaddus University, Martin Methodist and Kentucky Wesleyan round out of the seven- team field.
