OLD HICKORY — Senior Kayla Smith carded a second-round 82 and Katie Legge shot 83, helping Cumberland to a second-place finish at the Trevecca Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Old Hickory Country Club.
Smith tied for the tournament lead with four birdies over the two rounds and the Greenbrier native finished seventh overall individually.
Legge tied for fourth overall after posting a second-round 83, with the Portland native ranking second in the field on par-5 scoring (+2) and tied for fourth in pars (18).
Senior Lindsey Taylor registered an 86 on Tuesday, placing 10th, and the Milan tied for third along with Smith in par-4 scoring (+9) and was right behind Legge in total pars (17).
Freshman Kaleigh Chitwood tied for 18th after shooting a second-round 92, while sophomore Quincy Hogan finished 31st overall, carding a 95 on Tuesday.
Cumberland will play next in the St. Catharine Invitational on Oct. 14-15 in Bardstown, Ky.
