CU men's golf inks Polston

Cumberland men’s golf announced the signing of Lafayette native Zach Polston to scholarship papers for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Macon County High School product was a four-year all-district selection for coach Beverly Shoulders. Polston finished 26th as a freshman and 14th as a junior in the TSSAA A-AA State Tournament, with the Tigers claiming the 2012 state championship.

He made the cut during the 89th annual Schooldays Golf Tournament this past summer at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville and the 50th Annual TGA Junior Amateur Championship at Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tenn. He is the son of Barry and Belinda Polston.
