Nay earns Academic All-District honors

Cumberland’s Taylor Nay was named to the Capital One Women’s Soccer Academic All-District 2 team this week.

She will now enter the pool of players from around the country to be selected Academic All-American later this month.

The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native leads the Bulldogs with 11 assists and 31 points this season and ranks third on the club with 10 goals. Nay enters the weekend 15th nationally in the NAIA in assists per game (0.73) and 16th in total assists.

The sophomore carries a 3.65 grade-point-average in business at Cumberland. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.20 GPA or above to be eligible for the award.

Cumberland will finish the regular season Monday at Lee at 6 p.m. and will play host to a quarterfinal match in the Mid-South Conference Championships on Nov. 9.
