Lebanon’s Britt 17th, FCS’ Pittman 19th in state cross country finals

NASHVILLE — Lebanon’s Mark Britt finished 17th in the Class AAA boys’ state cross country meet on Saturday at the Steeplechase.

Britt completed the course in 16:37 as the Blue Devils finished 16th in the state with 427 points. Brentwood won with 49.

Teammate Caleb Kawasaki finished 100th in 18:12, Anthony Reeves 116th in 18:20, Austin Montgomery 119th in 18:22, Stephen Burns 154th in 19:01, Deiontae Sullivan 176th in 19:43 and Cole Langford 184th in 20:17.

Wilson Central freshman John Elrod was 56th in 17:30.

In the AAA girls’ race, Central’s Taylor Blankenship crossed the finish line 84th in 21:23, two seconds ahead of Lebanon’s Caitlyn Strickland.

In Division II-A, Friendship Christian’s Ashlyn Pittman was 19th in 22:47 while teammate Brooke Groff went into the chute 24rd in 23:07. Zoe Kane was 30th in 23:36.

The Lady Commanders finished sixth with 149 points. Knoxville Webb won with 32.

Friendship’s Kelly Bogner was 45th in 24:46, Rachel Heronimus 54t in 26:10, Carlee Ilias 57th in 26:21 and Alex Pulliam 60th in 28:19.
