Smith County's Gregory signs with CU softball

She batted .420 with 17 stolen bases as a junior and .312 with 12 stolen bases as a sophomore.

Cumberland softball coach Heather Stanfill announced the signing of Carthage native Brianna Gregory to scholarship papers, the first signee for the Bulldogs for the 2015 season.

The Smith County High School product has lettered three years for coach Joseph Hiett, earning Second Team All-District honors as a sophomore and junior for the Owls. She batted .420 with 17 stolen bases as a junior and .312 with 12 stolen bases as a sophomore.

Gregory has been a member of the BETA Club her entire high school career, received the Outstanding Academic Excellence award three times and was voted Homecoming Queen and Most Athletic. She is the daughter of Ricky and Denise Gregory.
