MT. JULIET — West Wilson’s teams improved to 3-0 Tuesday night with a 42-15 [girls] and 55-18 [boys] sweep of visiting Walter J. Baird.

The Lady Wildcats led 14-2 at halftime.

Taylor Tucker topped West Wilson with 14 points while Kenadhi Killebrew added eight, Conner Coward seven, Martoia Buchanan five, Faith Gorrell four, Bailey Kaposy three and Sarah Harmon a free throw.

Jenna Manus led the Devilettes with six points while Hunter McGowan finished with five, Christnney Brookshire two and Mattie Averitt and Becca Merrell a free throw apiece.

Baird’s boys battled the Wildcats in the first quarter. Gavin Johnson’s three-pointer put West Wilson up 10-7. The home team widened the margin to 25-12 by halftime and 45-16 going into the fourth.

Johnson dropped in a pair of threes in leading West Wilson with 18 points. Nathaniel Paredes and Brian Aiken each scored six, Kyzic Schweppe five; Dennis Stallings, Dalton King, Jeffrey Crawford and Tyler Osteen four apiece and Cameron Bass and Cole Ferguson two each.

Tavarus Booker’s nine points paced Baird while Dylan Alsup threw in three and Tyrique Cooper, Daniel Covils and Jared Lawrence two each.

Walter J. Baird will travel to Carroll-Oakland tonight.
