MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian’s girls breezed to a 58-15 win over Madison Academy on Monday night.
Afterward, MJCA’s boys rolled to a 60-35 triumph.
The Lady Saints led 14-3 following the first quarter and 31-6 at halftime as they improved to 5-2.
Lauren Wankel totaled 26 points for the Lady Saints while Meredith Orr added 11, Amanda Wall nine, Bailey Jarrett six, Carly Hummel four and Caroline Scott two.
The Saints used a 21-6 second quarter to turn a 13-8 lead into a 34-14 halftime blowout as Mt. Juliet Christian climbed to 4-3 for the season.
Zack Jones scored 17 points and Newman Ward 11 for the Saints. Gilbert Russ added eight, Landon Boyd seven, Wyatt Oberg five, Drew Headrick and Jonathan Correll four each and Sam Eastin and Nathan Green two apiece.
Elliott Furman finished with 14 points for Madison, which fell to 0-3.
Mt. Juliet Christian will play host to Trousdale County at 6 p.m. tonight.
MJCA boys beat Zion Christian
COLUMBIA — Mt. Juliet Christian’s boys picked up a 65-45 win over host Zion Christian in the ZCA Thanksgiving Classic last Saturday.
Earlier, the Lady Saints lost 40-33.
Mt. Juliet Christian’s boys snapped an 11-11 first-quarter tie to go up 30-23 by halftime and 47-35 going into the fourth quarter as the Saints pulled even at 3-3 for the season.
Ward nailed three 3-pointers as he and Jones each scored 15 points for Mt. Juliet Christian. Justus Willis finished with 14 and Oberg seven as both sank a pair of threes. Boyd bagged six points, Green four and Alex Graves and Russ two apiece.
Alex McKelvy led Zion with 18 points while Jarrett Delozier added 11.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Eagles led 10-5 following the first quarter, 20-12 at halftime and 33-26 through three periods as they fell to 4-2.
Oyn Aderoya’s 11 points and Emily Gleaves’ 10 led Zion.

Freshman Price leads Purple Tigers past Smith County
WATERTOWN — Watertown’s boys broke open a close game in the fourth quarter Saturday night to pull away from Smith County 66-49.
The Purple Tigers used a 20-6 run to break open a 46-43 edge after Smith County closed a 32-26 halftime deficit. Watertown led 20-17 after one period.
Freshman point guard Seth Price produced 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists on a pair of three-pointers and 7-of-8 free-throw shooting for Watertown. Senior Ty Jobe grabbed eight rebounds and Brandon George five as each added 11 points.
Zach Edwards added nine pints while Dylan Speck dropped in eight, Hunter Warren four and Brant Martin and Ty Love two apiece.
Watertown will play host to Westmoreland tonight with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m.
