MADISON — Mt. Juliet Christian’s girls crushed host Madison Academy 60-9 Monday night.
The Lady Saints led 19-5 following the first quarter and 37-5 at halftime.
Lauren Wankel scored 17 points and Amanda Wall 12 for the Lady Saints. Caroline Scott and Meredith Orr each added eight points, Carly Hummel seven, Bailey Jarrett six and Abi Hildabrand two.
Mt. Juliet Christian will travel to Providence Christian at 6 p.m. tonight in Murfreesboro.
MLK girls hold off Devilettes
Martin Luther King’s girls broke a first-quarter tie and held off host Lebanon 57-53 Saturday as the Modern Woodmen Thanksgiving Classic came to a close at Campbell Brandon Gym/Hester Gibbs Court.
The Lady Royals broke a 10-10 tie with a 14-9 second period to go up 24-19 by halftime. MLK held to a 39-37 edge going into the fourth as the Devilettes dropped to 1-3.
Brianna Smith sank a pair of three-pointers in leading the Lady Royals with 17 points while Jordan Majors scored 16 and Molly Kafader 14.
Abby Wright continued her torrid start for Lebanon with 20 points while Kelsey Yarbrough threw in 13 and Madison Sloan 11. Morgan Bruce finished with five points and Jameka Dowell four.
Lebanon will travel to LaVergne tonight for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
St. Louis dominates in Lady Wildcat win over Maplewood
Dominique St. Louis was dominating for Wilson Central on Saturday.
The Morehead State signee scored 30 points as the Lady Wildcats breezed to a 72-43 victory over Maplewood in the Modern Woodmen Thanksgiving Classic at Lebanon’s Campbell Brandon Gym/Hester Gibbs Court on Saturday.
The Lady ‘Cats led 22-12 following the first quarter, 44-23 at halftime and 57-32 going into the fourth as they improved to 2-0.
Kendall Spray contributed some outside balance with a pair of three-pointers for half of her 12. Rachel Burkett also bagged a pair from beyond the arc for her six while Hailey Averitt, Hannah Brewer and Addison Byrd each finished with five and Kayla Jackson three.
Destiny Hayes hit three triples in leading the Lady Panthers with 15 points.
Central will travel to Cookeville tonight for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
Lady Bears off to 5-0 start, to face Riverdale tonight
Mt. Juliet’s girls breezed past first-year Stewarts Creek 79-39 Saturday in the Modern Woodmen Thanksgiving Classic at Lebanon’s Campbell Brandon Gym/Hester Gibbs Court.
The Lady Bears led 24-8 following the first quarter and 47-15 at halftime as they improved to 5-0.
Center Sally McCabe’s 26 points led the Lady Bears while Raeyana DeGray scored 17. Ronjanae DeGray notched nine points, Summer Adams eight, Skye Riggan and Ashley Roby six each [on two three-pointers apiece], Tavie Bell five and Tyia Waller four.
Twins Brandi and Brianah Ferby posted matching 11-point efforts, including a pair of threes, for Stewarts Creek.
Mt. Juliet will play host to defending state champion Riverdale at 6 p.m. tonight. The Lady Warriors are coached by former Watertown assistant Cory Barrett, who suffered his first loss in two seasons at RHS with a one-point setback to a team from Chicago on Saturday.
