The threat of icy weather for Friday night prompted Wilson County Schools to order its teams not to play that night.
The directive effectively cancels Mt. Juliet’s basketball double header at Lebanon and Wilson Central’s trip to Hendersonville, both District 9-AAA openers.
Makeup dates have not been finalized for either twin bills. The central office gave the schools the option of playing Thursday night or even Saturday, but those options weren’t chosen.
Watertown was not scheduled to play Friday, but is to play host to Westmoreland at 6 p.m. Saturday in a makeup of a snowout from last week.
Friendship Christian’s home double header with Donelson Christian was still on for 6 p.m. tonight at the Bay Family Sportsplex as of Thursday evening. FCS girls’ coach Deanna Teeter said a final decision would be made probably by midday Friday.
Mt. Juliet Christian had already moved its games at Eagleville to 4 p.m. Saturday due to a drama production at MJCA.
Central’s boys plan to leave sometime today to try and beat the weather to Benton, Ky., for the Marshall County Hoops Fest against Warren [Ky.] Central to be played at 9 a.m. Saturday.
