NASHVILLE — Cumberland’s wrestling team faced an early morning on Nov. 13 in aid of a strong cause.
The squad left the CU campus at 3:15 a.m. to travel to the Nashville Rescue Mission to help prepare food for a service project.
The student-athletes served meals, handed out utensils, poured drinks and engaged with the homeless during the trip. They also had the opportunity of working with some of the members of the Nashville Rescue Mission that are in a program to help them get back on their feet.
The trip was part of an ongoing Cumberland initiative to continue to extend a hand to the local community and make a difference in the Lebanon and throughout Middle Tennessee.
The Mission’s director of development is Lynn Bogle, who formerly held a similar title at Cumberland before becoming the school’s athletic director. The Lebanon native also served as its radio voice for sports broadcasts.
