EAGLEVILLE — Mt. Juliet Christian’s boys staged a third-quarter rally to overtake Eagleville 54-51 Saturday.

Earlier, the visiting Lady Saints succumbed 43-29 to the Lady Eagles.

Mt. Juliet Christian’s boys trailed 10-7 in the first quarter and 31-23 at halftime before using a 15-6 third period to go up 38-37 as the Saints improved to 6-4.

Zack Jones scored 18 points for Mt. Juliet Christian while Newman Ward dropped in a pair of three-pointers on his way to 13 and Landon Boyd 10. Drew Headrick finished with five, Justus Willis four and Wyatt Oberg and Alex Graves two each.

No one scored in double figures for the Eagles.

Eagleville’s girls soared to an 11-4 first-quarter lead and were up 24-9 at halftime as the Lady Saints slipped to 7-3.

Nicole Duke dropped in 14 points and Kristin Barnes 11 for Eagleville.

Lauren Wankel led the Lady Saints with 10 points while Meredith Orr added eight, Amanda Wall four, Bailey Jarrett three and Caroline Scott and Abi Hildabrand two each.

Mt. Juliet Christian will play host to Zion Christian tonight with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m.
