BEECH MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Cumberland finished ninth in the overall team omnium with only four riders in the team’s second year competing in Division I at the cold and snowy at the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships at the end of October.

The Bulldogs improved three spots in the overall team omnium from last year, with senior Logan Luker, juniors Tanner Hurst and Morganne Endicott and freshman Reece Oleson providing the points for the club.

Endicott finished eighth in the individual omnium, up seven spots from last season’s 15th-place showing for the Alamo, Calif., native, while Hurst moved up six spots to sixth overall as well.

The highlight of the weekend came in the first-ever Team Relay event. Each team has one rider (two men, two women) each complete one lap of the course. With only one Cumberland female, Endicott had to pick up the slack and ride two laps. Together the group rode to a fourth-place podium spot and took home a medal.
