Wildcat wrestlers remain 4th in Killian poll

Wilson Central remained fourth in Luther Killian’s state high school wrestling poll released Monday.

The Wildcats picked up 74 points to trail No. 3 Father Ryan’s 83 and stay ahead of No. 5 Bradley Central’s 61.

Baylor leads with 100.

Mt. Juliet drops dual meets to Dickson County, Cookeville

Mt. Juliet was edged by Dickson County 40-39 and dropped a 54-17 decision to Cookeville on Saturday.

Dickson County winners were Kiran Ayer by forfeit at 170 pounds, Macon Webster by pin over Brian Qiu in 1:45 at 182, Cody Metchis by forfeit at 285, Tanner Corlew by pin over Daniel Baker in 1:44 at 106, Hunter Smith by pin over Zane Zotto in 1:24 at 138, Beau Badon by forfeit at 145 and Brodie Donegan in an 11-0 major decision over Justin Charest at 152.

Mt. Juliet winners were Danyon Edens by pin over Halston Davis in 3:33 at 160, Asher Benson by pin over Lucas Chatham in 1:57 at 195, Colton Jones by pin over Zackary Brown in 1:58 at 220, Jalen Henry by pin over Adrian Luna in 1:36 at 113, Matthew Helm by pin over Palmer Perkins in 35 seconds at 120, Zackrey Wilkins by forfeit at 126 and Colin Williams by an 11-4 major decision over Garrett Witherspoon at 132.

Cookeville winners were Dalton Underwood by forfeit at 152, Austin Hammons 8-2 over Edens at 160, Alex Thurmond by pin over Samuel Mathis in 49 seconds at 182, Trent Crumby by pin over Benson in 58 seconds at 195, Darren Houston by pin over Jones in 54 seconds at 220, Andrew Gates by forfeit at 285, Justin Rogers by pin over Baker in 32 seconds at 106, Murphy Elkins 6-3 over Helm at 120, Branson Satterfield by pin over Williams in 2:34 at 132 and Tristan Strader by pin over Zotto in 16 seconds at 138.

Mt. Juliet winners against Cookeville were Henry by pin over Patrick McKereghan in 2:54 at 113, Wilkins by an 18-3 technical fall over Joe Hayden at 126 and Charest by pin over Scott Chaffin in 3:01 at 145.
