Cumberland is ranked 20th in the second regular season edition of the NAIA Division I women’s basketball coaches’ top 25 poll, the national office announced Tuesday.

The Bulldogs, 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-South Conference, won four straight outings from Dec. 7-Jan. 2, including a 69-54 win over then No. 13 Talladega, before dropping a 70-66 decision to then seventh-ranked Campbellsville. All five of CU’s losses this season have come against teams currently ranked in the top 12 in the nation (No. 2 Freed-Hardeman, No. 5 Campbellsville, No. 7 Oklahoma Baptist, No. 10 Bethel, No. 12 Talladega).

Cumberland will head to Bluefield and Pikeville tonight and Saturday, respectively, before beginning a three-game homestand Jan. 16 against Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown College and the University of the Cumberlands.
