Lady ‘Cats roll into state bowling tournament today

Bowlers from Lebanon and Mt. Juliet will join Wilson Central and Friendship Christian today at Smyrna Bowling Center.

Wilson Central’s girls will open state bowling tournament play today at Smyrna Bowling Center. The Lady Wildcats will bowl at 2:30 p.m. today in a Baker-scoring round for seeding to set up Friday’s 11 a.m. quarterfinals. Team members are Nicole Bailey, Lacy Denson,  Meghan Wofford, Rickie Denson, Dezarie Weller, Samantha Boudreaux,  Michelle Boudreaux, Kayla Hubbuch and Savanna Armistead.

In addition, four Lady Wildcats and two boys qualified for the individual tournament which will roll off at 8:30 a.m. today. The foursome are Bailey, Denson, Wofford and Denson. Kyle Hubbuch and Mike Murrell will compete in the boys’ event.

Mt. Juliet has three individual girls qu alifiers - Elizabeth Giacobbi, Jessica Giacobbi and Hannah Hayes - and Lebanon two - Savannah Shirley and Sarah Vanhooser. On the boys’ side will be Mt. Juliet’s Matt Gudlin and C.J. Greenfield and Lebanon’s Dustin Brakefield and Jared Bradshaw.

Friendship Christian’s boys will compete in the Division II tournament starting today as well. In addition to the team, Commander sophomore Donny Turner has the state’s highest average at 207.3. Junior Jacob Haskins averages 177.9.
