Former Mt. Juliet coach David Crawford has been busy in his former community in recent months.

The Tusculum assistant reeled in not one, but two tight ends from the West Wilson town during Wednesday’s signing day.

While Mt. Juliet Michael Khoury was signing on the dotted line, Mt. Juliet Christian’s Zack Jones was doing likewise.

“Zack has earned the opportunity from every possible angle,” Mt. Juliet Christian coach Jake Roberts said. “He is an outstanding young man, and I am looking forward to watching him play at Tusculum over the next few years. I believe that he will be successful in whatever he does. He has such a strong work ethic and is one of the most character-driven young men that I have ever meant. I fully believe that he will find his way onto the field in the near future, and I am incredibly excited about that day.”

There were also a couple of signings at Lebanon on Wednesday.

Defensive lineman Coleton Thomas signed with Cumberland football while center-midfielder Amanda Nugent signed to play soccer for Carson-Newman.
