Hunting and fishing license expire Feb. 28,

Wilson County Clay Target Team: An organizational meeting is scheduled for Feb. 4 for the Wilson County Straights which will compete in the state-wide scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).

 Youngsters age 10 through high school are eligible.

The meeting is set for 4 p.m. at the Cedar City Gun Club.

Cost is $55 and a Hunter Safety Certification is required.

Fishing, boat show: The annual Tennessee Fishing and Boat Show (tnboatexpo.com) will be held Feb. 7-9 at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

It features hundreds of booths and exhibits, and seminars by outdoor experts including Lebanon's Jim Duckworth and Mt. Juliet's Gibby Gibson.

Turkey show: The National Wild Turkey Federation will hold its annual show Feb. 13-16 at Gaylord Opryland Resort.

There will be more than 750 booths of the latest hunting gear, outdoor celebrities, hunting seminars, turkey-calling contests and various family activities.

License reminder: Hunting and fishing license expire Feb. 28, and renewals are available starting Feb. 18, on-line and at most outdoor outlets. There is no increase in the cost of 2014 licenses and permits.
