Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering announced the signing of Siegel High School product Amanda Worrell to scholarship papers this week for the 2014 season.

Worrell is the first signee for the Bulldogs for next season.

The Murfreesboro native was a four-year letterwinner for coach Laura Pierce at Siegel, earning All-District 7-AAA and Region 4-AAA tournament honors as a junior and senior. She was also named All-Area by the Daily News Journal the past two years as well.

The Stars have advanced to the TSSAA State Tournament in three of Worrell’s seasons at SHS, going 3-2 in 2013 and 2-2 in 2011 and 2010.

Worrell has played five years for the Middle Tennessee Volleyball Club and director Rhonda Ross. She is the daughter of Tony and Kristi Worrell.
