Cumberland’s home baseball opener scheduled for Wednesday against Union University was canceled for the second straight day due to inclement weather in the area.
No makeup date has been set at this time.
Cumberland and Union were scheduled to play Tuesday originally but that was pushed back a day because of extremely cold weather and the possibility of precipitation. Wednesday’s weather turned even worse, with the forecast calling for freezing rain and possibly snow throughout the southern middle Tennessee area.
The Bulldogs will host a three-game series this weekend against Taylor beginning Friday at 2 p.m. at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium.
