Wendell Bain, in purple shirt, operates the scoreboard and clock during the District 8-A boys’ final on Tuesday at Watertown. Bain played in the first game in the gym in 1983 against the old Castle Heights Military Academy and has been the WHS clock operator for several years, taking over from his brother, Brent, who ran the timer at the first game and for many years afterward. The final games at the gym will be played tonight and tomorrow as Pickett County comes to the Tiger gym in the Region 4-A tournament. Should either of the Tiger teams win the region, they would play host to the sectional as well.
